crx draster crx draster This past Sunday, we debuted the new Santos Turbo Corolla at the Import Drag Racing Circuit in Fontana California at Auto Club Speedway. We managed to make two test runs during the day. On the first run, the car shook the tires hard off the line. After making adjustments to the tire pressure, the car still shook the tires. Our day was cut short by the arrival of unexpected rain. We expect to be out testing soon in the coming weeks

Unfortunately we had a accident at barona. Hit the wall rolled 8 times and fire. My dad is ok just sore and banged up We already began cutting up the car to build another.
Here are a few pictures of the progress on the car. If everything goes smooth, we should be on the track in a few months.

drag racing corolla Here are photos of my father's 1983 Toyota Corolla with Tacoma 2.4L 4 cylinder 2RZ, Arias Pistons, Pauter rods, (aka Santos Turbo). The build began in 2009-2010 with the intent on building a reliable 9sec car. Off the trailer in 2010, we went 9.5 and never looked back. Over the years, improvements have been made but nothing over the top. Our first build lasted over 300 passes before it needed a refresh.

The car is a regular at all the local SoCal tracks Irwindale(home track), Barona, Fontana, Vegas, and we plan to go to the east coast next year.

Several best of shows have been won and numerous placings at the drag events, 4 IDRC and 3 IFO winnings. Best to date is 5.36@234 in the 8th and 8.35@166 in the 1/4.

My father has been racing many years and is known throughout SoCal as we have been around since the terminal island days. I have included a picture of the 2nd car we are adding to the mix for the 2015 season; same power plant and should run in the 8sec zone as well.
